Back to blogging!

16:55 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey guys! I promised I'll be back to blogging second week so here I am ( sorry I'm a bit late)
A lot of stuff has just been going on in my life and I had a few things to sort out too.

Now to today's post..

You see that wide grin on my face? That was for  two reasons
1. The year is coming to an end and though I've had a lot of disappointments and even more items to tick off my to do list, GOD  has been indeed faithful, in my life greatly.

2. That was the last week of exams, truth be told I actually like school but four months without seeing my family and exams stress was beginning to take a toll on me and I needed a break so I was more than excited.

This was my fit to the thanksgiving Sunday:
I always put my comfort first  plus I go to a school where conservative dressings are highly prioritized so I thought .. What other way to add comfort and style and still look decently dressed?

Voila! This gown came to be.. Thought it was a last minute descition, I still pulled it off pretty good.

I put on my black heels , minimal accessories as usual and I was good to go.

Outfit details:
Gown:mum's tailor
Shoes:aldo

How have you guys been lately? Have you been able to let off the steam from work or school? I'll love to know how that worked for you ..
                    Till next week!
                    Love, VOURDI.

10:31 Unknown 2 Comments

Hey guys! How have y'all been? I've been so busy with school test and all (tryna get 'em grades  yeah!) but I still have to write because I love and appreciate you guys (my readers).

Reason for the break? EXAMS!!
I've got exams in two weeks and since I'm a student before a blogger, I have to set my priorities straight.
Can't wait to  resume blogging second week of December yo!

Now to the outfit:

Let's begin by saying : this top was Hand
made by me!! (Lol yes I'm talented like that!)
I promise you this wasn't what I had in mind when I cut up my dad's shirt but I still like the way it turned out.

Since I was going for a very casual look , I paired this with casual skinny jeans and flat shoes. With my shot of confidence added, I was good to go!
 Out fit details:
Shirt:hand made
Jeans:forever 21
Shoes: forever 21

What's your take on my outfit guys? Yay or nah?

Can't wait to see you guys in December!
Have a lovely week ahead !

All BLACK EVERYDAY

15:40 Unknown 3 Comments

Hey guys! How have you all been? Chasing your dreams and stuff? I really hope so!
So recently I was really feeling down and upset, as much as I love blogging I was hoping people would begin to notice my work too.

So for anyone feeling down this is for you:
Whether you're a creative or not, an entrepreneur or not whatever you are there's going to be a point where you'll feel like stopping, people are going to frustrate you, you'll probably shed more tears than you' can remember, a lot of rejections are going to come but I want you to remember this:if you keep yourself focused on the the bigger picture, all this is going to be part of your success story.
You're going to look back at all this  and laugh some day
It's darkest before the dawn and finally;
You can never truly laugh until you've truly cried so don't be discouraged and don't get distracted looking at people doing what you love, your dawn is coming!

Now to the style post:

Anyone who knows me well knows that I like to be comfortable in anything I wear, comfort over style any day but I'll rather have both!
This jumpsuit that I added the "off-shoulder" vibe to is as comfortable as anything , I love the detailed brooch in the middle and the pallazo part of the bottoms are perfect for the classy look I was going for

The white shoe which is a perfect contrast to the white is a perfect match, going hand in hand with the jumpsuit for a complete  look of " chic yet effortless".

As usual, I went for minimal accessories to complete this look.  My tied up hair was for the minimalist look.

So tell me guys? Has anyone else been feeling down this week? What did you do to feel  better? Also. What's your take on my outfit.. Yay or nah? I'll love to hear form you!

Have an amazing week!

Monochrome vibing:VOURDI x GERALD OKERAFOR in fliq clothing a

18:17 Unknown 2 Comments

Hey there beautiful people! My week has been so stressful running from one class to another, I'm glad I finally have little time to rest before I'm bombarded with mid-semester tests again (I need help somebadaayy!)

Today I'm having my first blogger collaboration with a fellow fashion blogger Gerald of GERALDOKEREAFOR.COM
By now you guys know I'm all about the simple look life and any thing monochrome ,so when I got  a chance to wear an outfit from the fliq SS16 collection I immediately began thinking about the possible combo's in my mind. (A proper review of the fliq brand coming up on my blog soon)

So right to the outfit:
Gerald and I opted for a casual monochrome look, something relaxed. The black and white combo of the material brought the shirts to life  ,sort of subtle but still reaching out to the required audience. A look I'll wear to a semi-formal meeting or school re-Union probably

.

I styled this look with a laid back hair,
minimal accessories (I guess it has to take something as big as the fashion week to get me to wear bold accessories SMH)
The high waist pallazo trouser was the perfect match for this look, I didn't want to look too regular.
Finally my heels which I thought was a bad idea at first but loved it in the end, a match made in heaven.

Head over to Gerald's blog for his own take on the collaboration.

Forgive my manners guys!how do you do? How has your week been? Stressful like mine or really chill?  What do you feel about the outfits yay or nah?

Rocking the print

10:36 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey guys! How have you all been? Back again with another style post..

Today I styled my snake print jumpsuit.
I'm not so big on prints so when I got this one I was skeptical about wearing it  but apparently it fit so well so I thought.. Why not?

This look is one I'll wear to a concert, a family outing or movie
The weather was hot, hence the sunglasses

I'm all about minimal accessories so I went for the basics , earrings and a black chocker.

To complete the look, I wore my back heels for a classy touch up.

Outfit details:
Sunglasses:mui mui
Jumpsuit : moms gift
Heels :Aldo
Chocker:random store

So tell me guys? How would you wear this look?
I'll really love to hear from you!
Till next post!
                    Xx.. Vourdi

Stylish in black

23:29 Unknown 2 Comments

Hey guys  how have you guys been? It's September yay!!! Nine down   Three more to go. I just really want to thank GOD for bringing me this far.

Now to my outfit , ever heard the saying  when in doubt wear black?  Well I have and this saying works just fine for me. I'm particularly down with  this gown because though it's an LBD (little black dress) , the sheer part of this gown makes it particularly unique.

I also like the way the gown was made to give the illusion of a fuller shape

For the shoes  : I'm an ardent monochrome lover so the first thing that popped into my mind were these white pumps to give a perfect contrast to the black gown.

For my bag: I opted to go with my brown cross body bag, I didn't want anything too bulky so as to keep the focus on my gown.

For my accessories: I like to be minimal with them so my black staple chocker  and gold and black star earings did the trick.

 Outfit details:
Gown: mums wardrobe
Shoes:aldo
Cross body bag:Louis Vuitton
Chocker and earrings:mum

Finally I completed this look with  laughter because I have a lot of things to be thankful for most especially the fact that I'm alive to see the month of September.

So tell me guys what do you think about this look? How will you pull it off?
I'll really love to hear from you guys

Till next post guys!
    Xx VOURDI .

Stunning in RED

10:19 Unknown 2 Comments

Hey there beautiful people!

How have you all been? I've been MIA for a month now.. I've been feeling so incomplete and I'm glad to finally be back , I took a break because I needed to make a few changes  to my blog, I'm glad to announce that I'll be adding a few more interesting things to my blog from next month. Thanks to everyone who checked checked up on me.

Now to the outfit post , let's dig right in!

See how I capitalized the RED? Red is a very delicate colour and it means different things to different people. Though it isn't my favourite colour at the moment, It does mean a whole lot to me red is  a bold, self expressive colour definitely not for the faint hearted . Red is a colour that stands out which is why I chose it for this 'dinner date' look.

A dinner date look is an appealing look, a look which exudes confidence this red off shoulder dress does just about the whole work for me

The black strap heels accentuates this dress .
Minimal accessories are needed which is why I opted for the black choker , I completed this look with a black Versace bag  and I was ready to go!

Outfit details:
Gown: mums' wardrobe
Strap heels: forever 21
Bag: Versace
Glasses: random store

So tell me guys! What does red mean to you? Love? Passion? Or just another Valentine's Day colour?

I'll really love to hear from you guys.
